Being a Rangers fan for over 40 years, I have seen them spend foolishly on FA and trading away many young prospects too quickly. but to finally see the Rangers doing the right thing and rebuilding the Farm system is great. Watching Girardi to Anisimov to Krieder goal scored was a thing of beauty as all three are home grown.

I love how the media pretends that it speaks for the fans. It isn't disrespectful of the fans because the fans don't care. No one really thinks there's anything to the cliche-driven comments of sports figures, anyway.

It is, however, an insult to the media because it ignores them, disrespects them, and hurts their ability to write a story.

The writer says in the article "He always tells his players to let things go and be professional. To have restraint and skate away from situations which could hurt the team. The coach needs to listen to his own advice."

But that's what Torts is doing. By not saying anything he's not creating a story, a story that could distract the team. Esp the question about getting Callahan's offense going- how does it benefit the team to say anything to that, effectively saying that as a coach you are disappointed with your Captain's offensive play.

I think Tortorella is doing the right thing by not giving them any thing. All they do is look for the next story to bash someone or say "Tortorella doesn't believe the Rangers will win" and add a distraction that sports players have to deal with when the players themselves get asked those questions. The fans don't care if he doesn't give his life story up on the podium. The only thing I care about is that he puts out a winning team that respects him on the ice every night. He could walk up on the podium, flip the bird and walk out and I would just laugh and think "That's awesome" and move on.

It's too bad its the media complaining. I haven't seen to many complaints from the fans Torts talks to and thats NYR Fans. He makes the media members job's harder by not providing content and they dont like it.

If the Rangers play the way they did in the 3rd (which is their goal) the game is exciting. The design is to keep the pressure on the opposing team in their end but to get back responsibly and play defense when they get out. It's not a boring game when the system is working. Frustrating is a better term when the system isn't working and they look like they are on a penalty kill stuck in their own zone not pressuring the puck.

Filip Bondy's article is nothing more than a sports writer trying to find a topic that will create buzz; and apparently he has. If anyone believe's this series is over are fooling themselves. being a Raners fan for over years, I have the deepest respect for the Devils and know that they will not give up. Unlike the past two series (Ottawa and Washington) the rangers need to win game 2 against the Devils. If they don't, expect another 7 game series with a couple of OT games sprinkled in between. In my opinion, the winner of this series will win the cup.
